The future of green energy is bright and holds promise for a sustainable world. With the advent of new technologies and innovative building materials, we can create eco-friendly buildings and homes that are powered by renewable energy sources. These renewable energy sources include solar, wind, geothermal, and hydropower, among others. The green energy sector has already made tremendous strides in recent years, and it is poised to continue its growth in the coming years. In this article, we will explore the best building materials to look forward to now and soon to come.

One of the most promising building materials for the future is bamboo. Bamboo is an incredibly sustainable and fast-growing material that has numerous applications in construction. It is stronger than steel and concrete and can withstand natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes. Bamboo is also an excellent insulator, which can reduce energy consumption in buildings. Another promising building material is mycelium, which is the vegetative part of fungi. Mycelium has a fibrous texture that can be used as a natural adhesive to bind materials together. It can be used to make lightweight and sturdy building materials that are biodegradable and have a low carbon footprint.

In addition to these materials, there are also many emerging technologies that are being developed to enhance green energy in buildings. For example, graphene is a revolutionary material that is incredibly thin, strong, and conductive. It has the potential to revolutionize the solar energy sector by making solar panels more efficient and affordable. Graphene can also be used to make energy storage systems more effective, which can help to ensure a reliable supply of renewable energy.

Another promising technology is nanogenerators, which are devices that convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. Nanogenerators can be embedded in building materials, such as concrete and flooring, to generate electricity from foot traffic and vibrations. This technology has the potential to reduce energy consumption in buildings and make them more sustainable.

Moreover, green roofs are another trend that is gaining popularity in the construction industry. Green roofs are covered in vegetation, which helps to reduce the amount of heat that is absorbed by buildings. This can help to reduce energy consumption by keeping buildings cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Green roofs also provide other benefits such as improving air quality, reducing noise pollution, and promoting biodiversity. I was privileged to work on a Green roof project for the 1st time on the East Coast August 14 2015. The modern trend started in Germany in the 1960s, but with Global warming and prices increasing on Gas and Electric the West Coast is Finally starting to Sprout.

Finally, building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) are becoming more common in the construction of green buildings. BIPV systems are integrated into building materials, such as glass facades and roofing, to generate electricity from sunlight. This technology can help to reduce the carbon footprint of buildings by generating clean energy on-site.

In conclusion, the future of green energy is promising, and there are many exciting building materials and technologies that are being developed to make buildings more sustainable. Bamboo, mycelium, graphene, nanogenerators, green roofs, and BIPV are just a few examples of the materials and technologies that are being developed. With the continued advancement of green energy and sustainable building practices, we can create a more sustainable future for generations to come.
